Smart STB Portal URL: configure your IPTV step by step

Smart STB is the flagship app for turning a Samsung or LG Smart TV into an IPTV set-top-box. Its configuration relies on two often misunderstood items: your unique MAC address and the Portal URL provided by your subscription. This guide explains exactly how to find and use them.

What is Smart STB?

Smart STB is a native app for Samsung Tizen and LG WebOS that emulates a MAG box (the IPTV STB reference). Rather than installing an additional Fire Stick, you install Smart STB from the TV store, get a virtual MAC, and link it to your subscription via the provider's portal.

Step 1: find your Smart STB MAC address

1. Open Smart STB on your Smart TV.
2. At startup, the screen shows your MAC address in the form 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX (6 hex pairs).
3. Note it carefully — it's your device's unique identifier, required to activate your subscription.
4. If you don't see the MAC, go to Settings → System Information.

Step 2: send the MAC to your provider

Send the MAC to ATV Corner via WhatsApp or email. We activate your MAG line on our servers in under 5 minutes and send back a personalized Portal URL. Important: Smart STB also requires an app license (~$7/year directly with Smart STB) — that's a payment to the app vendor, not your IPTV provider.

Step 3: configure the Portal URL

1. Still in Smart STB, go to Settings → Servers (or General Settings depending on version).
2. Select Portal 1 (you can configure up to 4).
3. In Portal URL, paste the provided address: http://line.atvcorner.com/c/ (trailing slash matters).
4. Name your Portal (e.g. ATV Corner).
5. Confirm and restart the app — your channels appear.

Common errors and fixes

Authorization Failed / Invalid Portal

Most common cause: the MAC sent doesn't match the activated one. Re-check each hex character — confusion possible between 0 (zero) and O (letter), or between 1 and I.

Loading Portal indefinitely

The trailing slash matters. http://line.atvcorner.com/c/ works, http://line.atvcorner.com/c often fails. Try without the port too (DNS resolves automatically).

App expires after trial

Smart STB offers a 7-day trial, then asks for a permanent license (~$7/year). Legitimate — paid directly on the Smart STB portal.

Smart STB vs other Samsung/LG apps

• Smart STB: emulates MAG, ideal for Stalker/Portal URL, paid.
• Smart IPTV (siptv.app): takes an M3U playlist, also paid.
• IBO Player / IBO Pro: modern simpler alternative, one-time payment.
• OTT Navigator: mainly Android TV.

MAG Box / Formuler compatibility

If you have a real MAG (250, 254, 322, 420w) or Formuler Z11 / Z8 Pro, configuration follows the same logic: Settings → System → Servers → Portal 1 → Portal URL. MAC is printed on the device's back, no need for Smart STB.
